T52a, 1st Problem

CG&CS Station X

 June 30, 1944

To Deputy Director John Tiltman,

Sir,

The French gave us the manual of the machine T52a/b. They
captured it on the island of Elba.

I did a translation of this manual.

Thanks to him and thanks to the T52 we captured in Tunisia, I
managed to encrypt a message by following the German
procedures. This exercise can be used by our teams trying to
decipher encrypted messages with this machine. Our archives
have in full.

Best Regards,

Michael Crum.

=========== Example ==========

I have encrypted the following message with this key:

Inner Key:  4-6,1-2,IV,II,5-9,III,3-7,I,8-10,V
(From "A" wheel to "K" wheel)

External Key: 19,27,28,21,39,20,32,4,47,40
(From "K" wheel to "A" wheel)
